Richard Young is a retired high school History teacher who taught with the Thames Valley District School Board for 30 years.
He founded, published, and edited The Beat Magazine, an independent arts magazine, from 2009 to 2014. He reactivated The Beat Magazine 2009 in August 2025.
From 2023 to 2025, Richard served as the Community Outreach and Performance Program Coordinator for Silver Spotlight Theatre, a community theatre group comprised of adults 55 years and older.
Richard continues to write freelance, specializing in Arts and Culture topics.
